ITIL® Official Books and Practice Guides
ITIL 4 has a series of Official Books and Practice Guides, including:
● ITIL® 4 Foundation: the first Official Book of ITIL 4, the latest evolution of the most widely adopted guidance for ITSM. Its audience ranges from IT and business students taking their first steps in service management to seasoned professionals familiar with earlier versions of ITIL and other sources of industry best practice. ITIL® 4 Foundation provides readers with an understanding of the ITIL 4 service management framework and how it has evolved to adopt modern technologies and ways of working. It explains the concepts of the service management framework to support candidates studying for the ITIL® 4 Foundation exam and serves as a reference guide that practitioners can use in their work, further studies, and professional development.
Each of the higher level Official Books focuses on a different aspect of service management.
● ITIL® 4 Create, Deliver and Support addresses the cultural and team management aspects of product and service management. It provides an overview of tools and technologies which support service management and demonstrates how to integrate management practices into end-to-end value streams. ITIL® 4 Create, Deliver and Support is one of five ITIL® 4 Official Books, which build on the concepts introduced in ITIL® 4 Foundation.
● ITIL® 4 Direct, Plan and Improve supports the alignment of product and service management with modern business requirements. It drives successful organizational transformation and embeds continual improvement into organizational behaviour at every level.
● ITIL® 4 Drive Stakeholder Value provides guidance on establishing, maintaining, and developing effective service relationships at appropriate levels. It supports organizations in both service provider and consumer roles, promoting meaningful interaction and communication throughout the service journey.
● ITIL® 4 High-velocity IT addresses the specifics of digital transformation. It helps organizations to evolve toward a convergence of business and technology, or even to establish a new digital organization.
